Marjorie Lynn Bowden is the owner of M-L-B Enterprises which is a multifaceted small business.  She focuses on end-of-life caregiving and educates on quality end-of-life care along with advantages of long-term care and insurance. She is trained as an End-of-Life Doula with the International End of Life Doula Association.  She is also a self-published author of "Reaching the Rainbow Through the Storms', a book that empowers widows to embrace grief, reignite hope and live life.

Marjorie has challenged herself to be a lifelong student of learning by obtaining an Associate of Science in Data Processing, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and Masters of Public Administration. She has used her knowledge to give back in service as a Past President board member with Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce,  Secretary on All Collaborating to Serve-Community Development Corporation Board, Carastar board member, Vice President of Autauga/Elmore Developmental Services Board, and past board member of the Enlisted Wives Club, Parent Advisory Council, and Protestant Women of the Chapel.

Marjorie is a time honored spiritual and community advocate with a Doctorate in Biblical Studies with a concentration in Biblical Counseling. She has committed herself to developing relationships in her community through countless non-profit organizations while being the nonprofit Co-founder/CEO of Alpha Love 2 Life. She has volunteered with several organizations such as Women in Training, Aid to Inmate Mothers, Family Sunshine Center and Grace Place Pregnancy Center.

Along with being a Certified Biblical Counselor with the International Association of Biblical Counselors, Marjorie also holds certification in Anxiety Awareness and Life Coach. She has provided countless hours as a counselor to various groups to assist those in need as an I-Teen Hotline Counselor, Crisis Telephone Counselor, American Red Cross HIV/AIDS Counselor, and Equal Employment Opportunity Counselor. She also has experience as a volunteer with Department of Defense Dependents School’s Family and Schools Together Program and as an advocate for Family Action Crisis Team Domestic Violence Victims, Sexual Assault Victim Team Member as well as a Federal Women’s Program Manager. Ms. Cooper has a distinguished career in nonprofit work. Since February 2021 she has been involved in community efforts which elevate and move small to medium sized nonprofits toward grant resources. She presently collaborates with area chambers of commerce and other regional organizations, teaching virtual and live grant writing and nonprofit management courses through her business, Ann Cooper Consulting.

In 2016, Ann Cooper joined the staff of the River Region United Way (RRUW) as VP of Community Impact after serving as Program Manager of Leadership Montgomery. At RRUW, Ms. Cooper directed the work of two major volunteer groups, the Community Impact Council and the Allocations Committee. She coordinated agency collaborative efforts in the River Region to meet specific needs uncovered in the Council’s annual needs assessments.  She was the driving force behind RRUW’s Covid-19 United Community Relief Fund efforts in 2020, reviewing hundreds of community grants totaling $500,000. Pre-Covid, Ms. Cooper directed approximately 300 volunteers in area education projects for Pre-K to 6^th grade. For fourteen years, she managed five nonprofits as a private consultant, and she brings a wealth of nonprofit management experience from that time.

A recipient of public relations awards through the years and accolades during her career, most recently Ms. Cooper has been a four-time recipient of BB&T’s NeighborWorks Scholarship for advanced grant writing and nonprofit association management training. She has studied in Portland, Oregon, Pittsburgh, PA and twice in Washington, DC with this program. NeighborWorks encourages participants to return to their communities and provide “pay it forward” learning opportunities. Grant Writing 101 has been taught by Ms. Cooper at the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce’s Business Incubator to over 450 attendees to date, and at various Chambers of Commerce around the state. Her other workshop, Grant Writing 102 has been received well by 300 area nonprofits to date. Ann is a graduate of Auburn University Montgomery and the Institute for Organizational Management at the University of GA, Athens. As a Small Business Administration SCORE volunteer, Ms. Cooper works with nonprofit startups in the Montgomery area, giving freely of her time to nurture organizations forming to address unmet needs in the River Region of Alabama.
